Last week, Nadine who was born in Hanover, Germany, on May 8, 1984, visited the Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) 2008 in Singapore to know more about information on dive sites, especially those in Indonesia.

Miss Indonesia who went to Miss Universe 2006 was in Singapore last week mainly to promote her book entitled NADINE; Labor of Love which presents the beauty of Nadine Chandrawinata and the beauty of Indonesia`s underwater world.

Nadine who likes eating noodles said Indonesia was actually rich in dive sites but it still lacks public relations agents who can promote the country`s underwater wealth.

The daughter of Andy Chandrawinata andn Elfie Chandrawinata also called on Indonesians, particularly divers, to help maintain the ecosystem at dive sites as she was concerned over certain persons` way of catching fish using dynamite and other kinds of explosives that had destroyed the environment.

"Indonesia has already a lot of dive sites and we now have to maintain them and their ecosystems," said Nadine who is now completing her mini thesis to obtain a strata-one degree on advertising.

Nadine is however aware of people, especially fishermen, who make such a way of catching fish using explosives to meet their needs.

According to the actress who starred in film Realita, Cinta & Rock n`Roll, a sea campaign may be needed to change their mindset of fishing while at the same time maintaining the environment in the sea.

"Maybe it is a matter of their economic needs. However, we have to be able to change their mindset. We should also continue campaigns for the sea in an effort to reduce fishing activities with bombs," said Nadine who measures 174 cm in height and 60 kg in weight.
