The second season of Project Runway Canada, the successful spin-off of the popular US reality TV show Project Runway, premieres tonight on Global TV.  Fourteen fashion designers will compete for a top prize of $100,000 and a spread in Elle Canada Magazine.

Hosted by supermodel Iman, the show welcomes back judges Rita Silvan (Editor-in-Chief of Elle Canada), Shawn Hewson (Creative Director of Bustle Clothing), and mentor Brian Bailey

I spoke with contestant Christie Clayton of Carny Love to find out how her nerves were holding up prior to the airing of the premiere episode tonight.

Q&A With Christie Clayton:

TP: How did you prepare for the premiere of Project Runway Canada tonight?

CC: I've been working on Carny Love all day, and just staying calm.  I might get some new shoes.

TP: What are you feeling nervous or anxious about, anything?

CC: I am not feeling too nervous right now, but I tend to be in denial like this.  When the show starts tonight I will most likely spaz, so I have decided to watch it with a small group of peeps.

TP: And most looking forward to?

CC: Looking forward to seeing all the hits on the brand new Carny Love website, which was just re-launched, and reliving all the fun I had with the awesome, talented designers I got to know.

TP: What's your plan for the bit night tonight?

CC: I will do a little tour around town to a few parties pre-show, then watch it privately with my friends, and I'll probably swing by a few parties afterwards as well.

Good luck to Christie and all the other Project Runway Canada contestants tonight!  I know that bars and restaurants in Vancouver are fully booked with large groups who can't wait to see what cycle 2 of Project Runway Canada will bring - Vancouverites will be rooting for their local heroes Kim Cathers, Christie Clayton, and Genevieve Graham.
