Project Runway finalist arrested for assault with cat
Kenley Collins, who came to fame on season 5 of Bravo's Project Runway, spent the night in jail for attacking her ex-fiance with her cat, among other household items.
Collins, the third place finalist on the show, woke up her ex at 7 a.m. by tossing her cat onto his face. Zachary Penley, the victim, tried to crawl away using a blanket as a shield from the designer's barrage until she shut the bedroom door on his head. Collins then grabbed Penley's laptop, screaming, "I'll do it!" before throwing the computer at him. A glass of water and apples were also used as ammunition in the assault. She then said, "You're lucky. It could have been worse!"
Penley managed to dial 911 and Collins was arrested.
Penley, an artist and musician who penned a song called "CAT?" for Collins' "Runway" finale, had planned to marry the designer, but Collins' father, Kenneth, said she broke it off earlier this month.
"She broke it off and I guess he was a little bitter, so when this happened he called the police," he said . "He called my wife and said he was sorry the cops took it so far. He said he was sorry, but she's still facing felony charges for tossing apples and water."
Collins was arraigned on charges of " assault, menacing, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon" according to court records.
In a recent blog post on PETA's website, the group said,
We are so disgusted that Collins has reportedly endangered her feline companion that we think, if Collins is found guilty, she should be barred from owning any animals in the future. Anyone who would throw a cat in a fit of rage should not be trusted with the care of another life.

I'm with PETA on this one, no matter how angry I was at anyone it would never even cross my mind to fight back with my cat! That's disgusting behaviour.

Maybe she should have been sent to an anger-management course, so that she can learn to channel her anger in other ways.

While I don't like to pile on, but for this women to use her cat as "an object" and hurl the poor thing at someone is definitely wrong on so many levels....

Umm. Something tells me the marriage would've been a failure anyway with the name Kenley Penley. I hope he gets the cat.
But, I'm just sayin'
