Luxurious fabrics, golden tones with just touches of black and purple created strong vision and positioned Jarrel as a definite finalist (in my opinion at least). It was versatile and original, very well made and fitted the models flawlessly. The last gown, very Vivienne Westwood circa-Sex & The City, made a big statement and stole a round of applauses.
Already iconic figure in the NYC fashion scene, Suede matched his signature hair-do with the collection color scheme, choosing pink and purple. Everything on the runway was very Suede - candy colors mixed with silver metallics, full skirts, girly and sweet.
According to his own words the collection theme was Americana, inspired by the rock-and-roll culture. Joe's signature bikers' chic translated into a mix of leather pants and denim tops, with floral print dresses and couple evening gowns. While all pieces fitted flawlessly on the body, the entire collection lacked cohesiveness and signature elements which could make it more memorable.
Kenley's collection, inspired by Alice in Wonderland, was "her own dream wardrobe", matching her personality and style. Signature head pieces added a quirky twist to the girly full crinoline skirts, big ruffles and the last statement gown, fully made of feathers. Christian Siriano, watching from the front row, must have noticed the similarity to his own show closing just few months ago.
Karto's signature tribal influences were greatly celebrated on the runway - from bold prints to strong saturated colors, and beautifully structured shapes. What's great about Karto is the fact that her designs truly represent who she is, ethnically and personally, but still manage to look modern and wearable on the runway, for women of all types and colors.
Without trying to spoil the show's season finale, I have to say Leanne is a very strong candidate to win the last challenge. The level of craftsmanship she delivered throughout the season and the last creative effort she showed at the Bryant Park, was close to perfect. Consistency, innovation, very unique vision combined in a very wearable statement pieces - she has all the qualities we are looking for in a young up-and-coming designer.
We'll have to wait untill season 5 finale to actually know who have won, I just can not wait...
