The Pungo Strawberry Festival 2009 takes place in Virginia Beach this Memorial Weekend, and over 120,000 people are expected to attend this year.

The Strawberry Festival has all the ways that you can taste and eat strawberries, over 50 ways to be precise, and activities such as a pie eating contest, entertainment on three different stages, a strawberry parade, livestock show and sale, pig races, and the biggest carnival on the east coast.
This Festival has grown from nearly 50,000 in 1983 to its present size of over 120,000. The Festival is a 501 3 ©) non-profit organization and prides itself on its ability to give to the community.
