Rahman scores hattrick as ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ makes perfect 10 by nehalarya

The 81st annual Academy Awards will be held Sunday, Feb 22, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood and will be broadcast live in over 200 countries around the world.

Los Angeles, Jan 22: With 'Slumdog Millionaire' bagging a whopping ten Oscar nominations, two Indians including, the Golden Globe winner, AR Rahman and Resul Pookutty, have won a total of four nominations at the much awaited ceremony in Los Angeles. While Rahman has won three nominations for Best Original Score and Best Original Song, Resul has bagged one in the Sound Mixing category for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

The film has bagged a total of ten nominations. It had earlier won four Golden Globes including Best Picture, Best Director for Danny Boyle, Best Young Actor for 18-year-old Dev Patel and Best Original Score for AR Rahman.

It has received 11 Bafta nominations and been tipped for more success at the Oscars, despite opening behind US teen comedy 'Role Models' in its opening week in the UK.

8. Achievement in Film Editing: Chris Dickens

9. Achievement in Original Song: ‘O Saya’

10. Achievement in Original Song: 'Jai Ho'
