Whether marinated in garlic, breaded and deep fried, or mixed into fresh pasta, few ingredients stir the heart quite like shrimp, which has been reputed to be an aphrodisiac since ancient times.

(Of course, when selecting your shrimp, it's important to remember that local shrimp is more likely to be fresher, more flavorful, and sustainably caught than the dubious offerings of overseas shrimp "farms" or large scale trawlers. Here in South Carolina, both small scale ocean and freshwater off the dock shrimping are popular ways to enjoy local shrimp as well as to support the area's hard working fishermen.)
