The Royal Kiss Photo: William & Kate at Buckingham Palace
Prince William and Kate Middleton Kiss in Public for the First Time on Buckingham Palace Balcony
Prince William and Kate Middleton (now Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, if you please) have been photographed kissing for the first time, and it's on their wedding day.
Oh, and William and Kate's first public kiss took place on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, in front of hundreds of thousands of screaming Royals fans. Below is a photo of the royal kiss.
The first royal kiss was little more than a peck, and the crowd wanted more; the massive crowd chanted, "kiss again!" William and Kate indeed kissed again, but both were blink-and-you-miss it affairs.
The Royal Couple traveled by carriage from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, where they enjoyed a private reception with the Queen. They emerged onto the balcony to be greeted by hundreds of thousands of cheers. No pressure, but more people were watching this than tuned in to the Super Bowl.
CNN's Richard Quest said that the Royal Wedding will revitalize the Royal Family in the eyes of the British public and the world. He's probably right: Kate will be to new generations of British subjects what Princess Diana was to their parents, and not just in her position as the wife of a prince: she is helping to bring the Royal Family back into relevance.
