Sexiest Accent Poll: Irish the Sexiest Thanks to Colin Farrell

According to an international survey, the world's sexiest accent is Irish, followed by Italian, Scottish, and French. The poll surveyed 5,000 women worldwide, which was carried out by OnePoll.com.

Apparently there's a study that found 3/5 of women admitted having been seduced by someone's accent, and 2/5 would much rather sleep with a man with a nice accent.

The study also found three fifths of women admitted they had been seduced by someone purely because of their accent, while two fifths said they would much rather sleep with a man who had a nice accent, compared to a harsh one.

I have yet to find the original poll and the detailed results. It does not say by accent does it mean accent while speaking English or the languages in general. For an international poll, 5000 also seem too small of a sample. Many other online polls show completely different results.

of course it would have to be the accent I couldn't master while in Glasgow..must be the Gaelic pub influence.

Yeah, can't say I've ever used that line...

Not so sure I agree with American..

Me neither. The south maybe, like Patrick Swayze as Orry Main ...

And of course Asian and Middle Eastern accents are not up there. Now I hope they do a top 10 least attractive accents.

I agree, 5000 seems too small of a number for an international poll. But Irish is good, LOL.

Reminds me of the old joke:

A man boarded an airplane and took his seat. As he settled in, he glanced up and saw a spectacular gorgeous woman boarding the plane. He soon realized she was heading straight toward his seat. As if his prayers were answered, she took the seat right beside his.

Eager to strike up a conversation, he blurted out, "Business trip or vacation?"
