White House Goes 'Green'

The White House is showing some St. Patrick's spirit by dying water in its north lawn fountain green.

As thousands of people around the globe are donning green clothes and digging up corned beef recipes for St. Patrick's Day, the White House decided to jump on the bandwagon as well.

Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen was at the White House on Wednesday to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Cowen met with President Obama to discuss economic downturn in Ireland and his country's efforts for repair its banking system, a topic that hits close to home in the United States.

Both President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who was also at the White House to meet Prime Minister Cowen were fittingly wearing green today. Obama was wearing a green shamrock shaped broоch on his jacket. And, Speaker Pelosi was wearing a two-piece green suit. Prime Minister Cowen was also in the St. Patrick's Day theme, wearing a green tie.
