Starbucks free pastry! The Seattle-based coffee megalith has released a printable coupon on its website for a free pastry with purchase of a drink. These coupons can be redeemed on Tuesday, July 21. Here's the link to the free coupon, which is only valid in the US. Tell me how it was.

The giveaway is to promote the Starbucks' new line of trans-fat-free items.

"We know that tasting is believing," said spokeswoman Lisa Passe. "It's a great way to get new food into our customer's hands so they can enjoy a new delicious blueberry muffin with their morning latte."

Okay, I guess- I don't like Starbucks pastries. Or Starbucks coffee. But it's free, so there you go.

(I'm not affiliated with Starbucks, and favor local coffee scenes to chain shops)

Amyjudd - Canadians got free coffee from Starbucks on Earth Day if they brought their own cup. Not valid in USA (although some rogue american shops honored cranky customers).

Seize the opportunity to get pastry from Starbucks for free. I guess, this has been everybody waiting for. Starbucks is going on record as advocating a meal first thing in the day as healthy, which is why they are giving away a Starbucks pastry free – no quick cash needed. It will only be for Tuesday, the 21st of July only – and they will only accept the coupon for said free breakfast pastry at stand alone locations – those inside Safeway or Barnes and Nobles, or airports, etc, will not apply.
