Beginning in March 2009, Target will launch their new Designer Collaborations initiative with a collection designed by Alexander McQueen.  The collaboration initiative, similar to the H&M campaigns which have seen collaborations with world-class designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, and Viktor & Rolf, will make top designers affordable for the average consumer.

Alexander McQueen is the first on deck and will design a version of his McQ collection called McQ Alexander McQueen for Target. The collection will have rock 'n' roll influences and edgy details such as studs and tattoo-print fabrics. Designer Initiative is a separate program from Target's Go International, which focuses on young or emerging designers. Target said additional Designer Collections will be announced in the future. Each collection will be available in stores for a limited time.

Great story! Being a McQueen fan since he started in fashion, I'll be first in line when his Target line comes out.

I am a huge McQueen fan. It'll be interesting to see what the collaboration is like. If you need more McQueen Pics from the couture collections, let me know.

I am a shoe-E girl. I was turned onto Alexander McQueen shoes by an associate at a major department store (I will not mention the name, but they have a fantastic collection of brand names) Since she knows I can not resist a pair of high heels, she pulled these along with 4 others, they all made the grade for me, I prefer a heel height of at least 4" or higher. These reminded me of the style and designs from the 40's and 50's, round toe and two tone leather with a bit of sexyness too them. They are a great "day time" shoe to wear and have got a ton of compliments on them and asked, "who is the designer of those". I see the McQ collection at Target being a big hit for both parties, Target is hitting the right market with it's trendy styling and hip commercials. can not wait to see what the collection will be like, I may have to stop in a by a few more pairs.

Oooh how exciting!  I wish Vancouver had a Target.  Will have to make a visit down to Washington to check out the collection in the Spring.

Just love this McQueen shoe which I spotted in a boutique in King Street Perth. What a heel... just stunning!

This is so weird. Almost as weird as the time I found an Alexander McQueen couture suit at Winners for less than $500. Maybe the elite of the fashion world are not so elite after all?
