Tim Hortons NYC: Canadian Doughnuts Take Manhattan
Tim Hortons NYC! Tim Hortons, the ubiquitous Canadian doughnut (or, to some, "donut") mainstay, has landed in New York City. If Timmy's can make it here, it can make it anywhere. Perhaps Tim Hortons will be the next not-really-from-New-York donut shop to be associated with the city that never sleeps: Krispy Kreme is an import as well.
Tim Hortons now has 12 locations in New York City, located where hungry and/or Canadian commuters will be most vulnerable to doughnut cravings:
- 1 Penn Plaza
- 2 Penn Plaza
- Madison Square Garden (34th St/Penn Station)
- 7th Ave at 32nd St
- 34th St at 7th Ave (so some of these are really close together, just like in Canada)
- 7th Ave at 50th St
- 42nd St at Park Ave
- Lex at 95th St
- Broadway at 96th St
- Broadway at 33rd St
- 451 Fulton St (Brooklyn)
- 22 Court St (Brooklyn)
Timmy's has maps, too, for those who somehow cannot navigate Manhattan, or who wish to venture to Brooklyn on a Timbit expedition.
Nine of the 10 locations in Manhattan are scheduled to open Monday, including stores on Broadway and at Madison Square Garden, Penn Station and Times Square. Two more locations will open in Brooklyn.
Anything that'll compete with Dunkin' Donuts... I've never forgiven DD from driving away my favorite 2nd Avenue donut scene, which had half-priced donuts just before closing each night.
