Tom Nicon, a French Model Was Found Dead in Milan After Fall From Apartment Window

Tom Nicon, 22, has died in Milan on Friday after the French model apparently fell from his apartment window. The blog Isaac Likes spoke to a friend of Nicon's:

"He did the Versace fitting this morning. After that he was supposed to go to his agency but he never arrived. I don't know if it was suicide or if he fell."

He died one day before the start of Milan Fashion Week.

Nicon's modeling agency has not commented on the death, but Nicon joins a number of other models, including Ambrose Olsen and Lina Marulanda who have died in the past few years.

Nicon (photos) was a popular male model with a promising future ahead of him, and he had been part of campaigns for Versace, Hugo Boss and Burberry.

Another model spoke to Isaac Likes about the pressures models face that others do not realize:

"People think we are young and beautiful and rich and happy. But we're not. We go to castings and the directors take one look at us and then we're dismissed. You spend your whole life wondering what's wrong with you. Why didn't I get that job? You're competing with your friends, you're away from your family. The pressure is huge. It's not the fairytale life people would expect."
