Top 10 Most Patriotic Cities List Released
Men’s Health magazine recently conducted a survey of American cities to determine which was the most patriotic. The results in “Star-Spangled City” showed that patriotism crossed the economic and political spectrum. See below for the top 10 most patriotic cities.
First in the nation for Volunteer Rate.
Tenth in the nation for Fireworks Spending.
#8—St. Petersburg, FL
Eighth in the nation for Voter Turnout.
Third in the nation for Volunteer Rate.

Thirteenth in the nation for Voter Turnout. Fifteenth for Spending on Vets.
Eighteenth in the nation for Volunteer Rate.

Sixth in the nation for Voter Turnout.

The survey’s criteria were as follows: Calculating the percentage of registered voters who turned out for state and federal elections from 2004 to 2008 from Dave Leip’s Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections, money spent on military veterans per capita from the Department of Veterans Affairs, percentage of residents who volunteer for civic activities, charities or neighbors according to Volunteering in America, and the sales of fireworks and U.S. flags based on numbers from SimplyMap and americanflags.com.
