San Francisco's annual Valentine's Day Pillow Fight will take place this evening in Justin Herman Plaza (on the Embarcadero) at the stroke of six. Choose your weapon: down, memory foam, or that mysterious, squidgy pillow that was just there in the closet when you moved in.

It starts when the Ferry Building clock tower strikes 6 p.m. Saturday.

It is in fact legal to carry a concealed pillow in the State of California, but keep in mind that, by carring said pillow, you are declaring yourself to be a target for fluffy pugilism.

In fact, there are few things more exciting, more cathartic, and just plain fun than hundreds of strangers hitting each other with soft things in the name of love.

Everyone played by the rules...I was threatened by a loaded pillow a couple times, but because I was carrying a camera all I got was a smile and a "just kidding!" in the end.  A good time was had by all!

You stared fluff in the face... and didn't blink. Nice.

Well, all seem to play by the rules and enjoy, that is good. Never heard of that one yet.

San Francisco's annual Valentine's Day Pillow Fight was the perfect venue for Alexandra Fraser to celebrate her final day of chemotherapy.
