Wacky Kinetic Sculpture Race returns to Baltimore
This eclectic, and let's just say plain wacky, race combines genius, creativity, nerdy-ness, engineering skills, physical strength and acting ability.
On May 1st the wild, wacky and very creative people of the East Coast Kinetic Sculpture Race in Baltimore return for the 12th annual race. Sponsored by the American Visionary Art Museum this race is the perfect way to get an early start on summer.
Race coordinators are still looking for volunteers to help with the race. Getting into costume is part of the atmosphere of race day, the wackier the better. The race goes on rain or shine. The race is 15 miles around Baltimore and include the Canton Waterfront, where the moveable art is tested for seaworthiness. Following the water test the vehicles race over to Patterson Park for the sand and mud obstacle course. It is great fun for spectators to cheer on their favorite racers as they struggle through these challenges.
Grab a costume, join the fun. Read more about volunteers still needed and plans for this years race.
