World's smallest ramen bowl
Ingenius Japanese scientists have created the world's smallest ramen bowl that can only be seen through a microscope.
Mechanical engineering professor Masayuki Nakao said Thursday that he and his students at the University of Tokyo used a carbon-based material to produce a noodle bowl with a diameter of 1/25,000 of an inch. The project was aimed at developing nanotube-processing technology.
Nakao said the Japanese-style ramen bowl was carved out of microscopic nanotubes.
Nanotubes are tube-shaped pieces of carbon, measuring about 1/10,000 of the thickness of a human hair.
The ramen bowl experiment included a string of "noodles" that measured 1/12,500 of an inch in length.

cynthia yoo, I like this story. It's good stuff. I am addicted to the noodles.
One thing Cynthia that caught my eye to this story was the title, though I did not have my glasses on and thought the title was "World's smallest ramen bowel"of course once I put on my glasses, I read it correctly. For a second I thought you lost your mind Cynthia. hahaha

One of the best pork ramen bowls I've ever had. This walk-in ramen shop is in Shibuya.

RaiRaiKen in the East Village (NYC) is great for a basic bowl of ramen. The atmosphere is the most authentic, with just a long wooden counter that seats about 12 people.

This is the first time I've had homemade ramen, and it was delicious. The chef made enough for 25 bowls. The soup was tonkotsu, deep flavor but not too oily (Ippudo is good but it's a heavy broth). Very simple taste, I ate two bowls but could have probably eaten a couple more because the soup doesn't really weigh you down much.
Everything was homemade. He said that the soup took 3 days to make, in 8 hour shifts. The noodles took 4 hours and were the most difficult because unlike the soup base which can be left alone to simmer, the noodles need constant attention while you're making them.

I was on holiday in Hokkaido, and one of the attractions is to have a ramen meal at one of the streets in Sapporo, where many ramen shops are located. The shops were traditional and it was a good experience to be eating in there and lunching on piping hot ramen from the cold. This is a bowl of seafood ramen, where the noodles are thick, and the miso/shoyu soup is rich and savoury. It contains all the traditional ingredients like beansprouts, seaweed, corn, 'cha siew' slices, bamboo shoot pickles, etc. I considered it to be a satisfying meal as it was flavourful, but i would prefer my noodles thinner =)

Not the worlds smallest bowl, but definitely a tasty bowl of ramen. This was taken at Santa Ramen in San Mateo. For those of you that are familiar, this one was taken at their old location on South B St.

Deelish HK style breakfast. I wouldn't normally think of adding a fried egg nor Spam slices to my ramen, but did enjoy this one morning while on vacation. Hearty, salty and well, very "HK".

It's not the smallest ramen bowl but it might be the tastiest.
