Symmetrics Sweeps BC Cup #4 Atomic Bradner Road Race
Once again Symmetrics showed the quality of their squad as they placed
both of their riders on the podium in both the Men's and Women's
Category 1/2 Races. This podium presence was despite a large portion of
the Men's team yet to return from the Commerce Bank Triple Crown in
Pensylvania. In the Men's Category 3 and Junior race the Avia West Rocky Mountain team from Victoria took the top two places from a bunch sprint.
The dark skies of this year's edition of the Atomic Cycling Team's Bradner road race kept the crowds away and the competitors were forced to handle the difficult course without much in the way of fanfare. Again this year's event was put on by both the Atomic and CVC Racing teams from Vancouver. The weather cleared just in time to get the racing underway but the demanding course seperated the riders early or at least dropped the weaker riders early. The racing featured a pair of long breaks in the top categories and slower pace that kept the main fields together in the lower categories.
A Pre Race Interview with junior racer Kurtis Vallee who ended up winning the Cat3/Junior Race in a sprint just ahead of teammate Nic Hamilton. The men's 1/2 race featured a long break with 2 riders clear of the field right to the finish.
Post Race Video: Jeff Sherstobitoff and Brandon Crichton of Symmetrics summarize the day's racing in the Men's 1/2 Cat.
