A T shirt museum has opened online to preserve and document
the art of T shirts.  http://www.tshirts.me.uk

 

T shirt art and design is a huge part of contemporary art,
yet is usually overlooked. Galleries and websites exist for all other kinds of
contemporary art and now there is a place where T shirt art will be preserved
for posterity.

The ephemeral nature of T shirts means that images are
quickly lost that should be archived and kept as documentary evidence of the
art and design of our historical period. 
Especially as T shirt design often reflects the concerns and interests
of a generation more than any other form of contemporary art.

The museum welcomes additions from members of the public who
are interested in T shirt design. Photographs of T shirts can be uploaded to
the museum for selection and archiving. Anyone who loves T shirts is urged to
get involved and upload images of their T shirts, so that contemporary T shirt
art and design is not lost to future generations.
