Apple CEO Steve Jobs is taking a medical leave of absence until the end of June. Jobs recently announced that he had a hormone deficiency that had caused him to dramatically lose weight. In an e-mail to staff, Jobs said his "health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought".

Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook will handle day-to-day operations at Apple in the interim.
