BC Election: British Columbia Votes May 12, 2009

Gordon Campbell of the Liberal Party has won his third straight election as premier of British Columbia, making him one of only four premiers to serve three terms.

It's election time in BC; British Columbians head to the polls on May 12, 2009 to vote for their elected representatives. Provincial politics in BC have traditionally been a two party race and 2009 is no different. On the right is the business friendly Liberal Party of BC headed by one-time NPA Vancouver Mayor and current Premier Gordon Campbell. On the left is the NDP headed by long time Victoria-Beacon Hill MLA Carol James.

There are several other parties in the running, but the rhetoric and and political banter will likely be between these two major parties. Also on the ballots in select ridings will be candidates from BC Marijuana Party, BC Social Credit Party, Family Coalition Party of BC, Green Party of Canada (B.C.), and the Reform Party of BC.
