25-year-old Casey Anthony was acquitted of killing Caylee, her two year old daughter. While the prosecution's effort was more convincing than that of the defense, it was unable to fulfill the task of swaying the jury to convict Casey Anthony of first-degree murder based on mostly circumstantial evidence.
Meanwhile, the media had long since passed judgement, as did most of the people following the case. Nancy Grace, in particular, was vocal in her outrage over the jury's decision.
However, there is a difference between "seems guilty" and "provably guilty", which is what the American justice system aspires to maintain. It's clear, though, that Casey Anthony will not rid herself of this stigma anytime soon.
