Actress Natasha Richardson has died at the age of 45 after a freak skiing accident at the Canadian resort of Mont Tremblant.
Richardson fell during a skiing lesson but did not show signs of injury until an hour later when she was rushed to hospital. Speculation that she was suffering from a rare and fatal condition known as Talk and Die Sydrome began to circulate shortly after.
The critically injured actress was flown from Montreal to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York where she was kept on life support so family and loved ones could say their goodbyes.
Natasha Richardson is part of an acting dynasty, the Redgrave family, and her younger sister is actress Joely Richardson. She is survived by her husband, Irish actor Liam Neeson, and their two young children.
