Honoring the Advancement of Humanity

Since 1901, the Nobel Prize has been awarded for outstanding achievements in physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, economics and the promotion of peace. The awards are being handed out throughout this week, October 5 to 12, in Stockholm, Sweden, by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The Prize was named after Swedish chemist and businessman Alfred Nobel, and is considered one of the most prestigious academic awards in the world.
