Apple co-founder Steve Jobs passed away on October 5, 2011 following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Such was his influence across the personal technology, design and entertainment industries that even his competitors publicly mourned his death.
Steve Jobs brought us the mouse as well as the GUI (graphical user interface), which Apple continues to refine. Jobs also ushered in the age of the iPhone, and the tap is fast replacing the click. Once the underdog in Silicon Valley, Apple is now the major player, and Steve Jobs has long held guru-like status among not only Apple fanboys and -girls, but tech enthusiasts all over the world who had been chased away by ugly or user-unfriendly gadgets until the iPod came along.
