The Bachelor News

The Bachelor reality TV show has legions of fans worldwide but is it a showy display of romance or a globally broadcast exercise in humiliation?

Well, The Bachelor 14 is set to begin with Jake Pavelka as the new bachelor and 20 new women struggling for his attentions and his love. Jake is a cast-off from The Bachelorette with Jillian Harris, but this time the show will be all his.

The Bachelor 13 finale in 2009 was perhaps the most dramatic ever, with Jason Mesnick, who had been dumped by Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas, turned from prince charming to king jerk.

In the 2009 show finale he proposed to Melissa Rycroft to take back his ring six weeks later in the After the Rose Special. After dumping Melissa on national TV he immediately turned his attentions to runner up Molly Melaney saying he made a mistake.
