The China Post, TAIWAN - Taiwan's unemployment rate in July edged up to 4.03 percent from 3.96 percent in June due to an influx of recent graduates in the labor market, though down from 4.05 percent in the same month last year, the government statistics bureau announced yesterday.
"Since 2001, the unemployment rate in July on the Taiwanese market has never been so low," explained Huang Jiann-jong, deputy director of the Bureau of Census at the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS).
