November 8, 2006 An investigation was under way today into a fire at a tanning salon in Glasgow's East End. Nearby residents were evacuated while fire crews tackled the blaze in Duke Street. The fire broke out around 7pm in the ground-floor salon. Smoke was also billowing to floors above. Crews wore special breathing gear to deal with the blaze, which took 90 minutes to control using three fire engines and an aerial platform.
