Jeff Pulver, self-described "technology anthropologist",  is running a Twitter conference in New York called the 140 Characters Conference. The sessions seem reminiscent of the stories playing out on news websites every day.

While the original scope of the event was to explore “the effects of twitter on: Celebrity, “The Media”, Advertising and (maybe) Politics”, the scope of the event has expanded and we will be covering these topics and a lot more.

I imagine that the sessions will be brief. It's a bit pricy, though, at nine hundred bucks for the minimum full-conference registration, and $500 for one day. Or just follow it via #140conf.

If you can't wait til June, check out London's first micro-blogging conference 140media — which was held May 20th in the UK and is currently winding down.

Oh and, of course, Pulver was there.
