The 2010 Toyota Recall continues as many Toyota vehicles have been called back in due to the widespread issue with sticking foot pedals. Toyota has announced that this week they will begin efforts to fix the problem. Parts will be shipped to dealerships this week and the dealerships will remain open for 24 hours a day to move the repairs process along. Recalled vehicles will start to get fixed as of this week.

Toyota Motor Corp. said Monday that parts needed to fix a sticking pedal problem in eight recalled models were already being shipped to dealerships and that it would begin fixing motorists' vehicles this week.

According to Toyota manufacturers, the problem is with a friction device in up to 4 million vehicles worldwide. The fix involves installing a steel reinforcement bar into the pedal in order to reduce the amount of friction. Extensive testing has rendered the fix both efficient and effective. In the meantime, updates on the Toyota recall and many other recalls can be found at the website recalls.gov.

A government run website is helping to keep you informed. Recalls.gov is divided into categories like food, motor vehicles and consumer products. It is run by the F.D.A, U.S.D.A and the NHTSA.

It will take Toyota a while to regain confidence in their product again.
