Canon EOS 5D Mark II hands on EXCLUSIVE - EOS 5D comparison
Nikon started another camera revolution last year with the release of the D3. Now, Canon has announced their newest full frame SLR, which will offer users a host of new features barely seen before.

After a brief tease, Canon just got official with its EOS 5D Mark II. The full-frame shooter updates the original 5D introduced back in 2005 with a 24 x 36mm 21.1 megapixel CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 processor with 14-bit analog-to-digital conversion, and the ability to capture Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 video

I'm excited about the increased ISO range which will basically allow you to shoot in any type of light without having to worry about flashes or external lighting sources. This is the next evolution in camera technology photographers have been waiting for. While the megapixel wars were mostly hype and had a limited effect on pictures taken, these options offered by the EOS 5D will change the way we take photos.

Note that this 10D body has a plastic toy camera lens attached.

Will be interested to see how the 5D mkII performs in some real-world tests compared to the new Nikons..

At only US$2500 or so, it's within the reach of most of us who have been holding out for a new Full Frame camera

Yeah, I was very surprised at the 'relatively' low price of the camera. The features it offers are so far ahead of what we have right now should really be priced much higher. ;)

It took a long time coming, but seems to be a feature rich offering. My 40D still takes as good a picture as it did 3 months ago, so I'm not compelled to move just yet.

I've got an XTi so I've been itching for a full frame. This might be the one!

At work, I shoot mostly in the studio. For my personal work, I usually just carry one camera body, a 5D or 20D and a couple of lenses and a flash depending on what I plan to shoot. Lately, I started using film again and a Canon P range finder camera (made in 1959-61) with a couple of fast prime lenses. Less to carry and unobtrusive. I will probably upgrade to the new 5D mk11 for studio work.

This is the lastest of the Rebel series, the 450D. This is my second D-SLR (used to use a 300D). When I took this picture I was just messing around with silhouettes, shadows, and layering and photoshop and there's my inspiration for this picture. It is a great camera, and has produced some truly amazing pictures. I was happy to accept the request to post the image. Hope you all enjoy.
