700,000 Copies Of Sarah Palin's Book Sold In First Week Of Sales
A memoir authored by the 2008 Republican Vice President nominee and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin sold a whopping 700,000 copies in the first week of release. By comparison, Bill Clinton's memoir My Life sold 900,000 copies in its first week. Palin's book Going Rogue: An American Life has gained a lot of controversy even before it was even published. Everything about it -- from the choice of title, to Palin's revelations, to doubts about the authorship of her book -- attracted a lot of attention. As the end result, Palin once again dominated news coverage, prime time talk shows, and Google Trends. Palin is currently promoting her new book as part of the tour that will take her to over thirty American cities and towns, from Cincinnati to Fort Hood.
"Going Rogue" sold 700,000 copies — a number that includes pre-orders — in its first week of release, according to a publishing official close to the former Alaska governor. The official was not authorized to release the sales figure and asked not to be identified.
Palin's memoir came out Nov. 17 with a first printing of 1.5 million copies. On Friday, publisher HarperCollins announced that the printing would be increased to 2.5 million.

... and here is stated why the publishing industry is going down the pan. Publish a new talented author or go for the quick buck - the latter applies.

I sincerely hope this is not a true reflection of the number of people who care about this country bumpkin. A global laughing stock. A blue collar menace to the aspiration of intelligence. I may have to leave this country.

Hay everybody. Did you know that Sarah's PAC brought $600,000.00 worth of her own book? Is she trying to inflate the numbers in order to make herself look more important? Hmmmm.. I would love to see her up against Obama in a debate. Now that would be an entertaining debate. Maybe the first one that is entertaining.
