The latest set of British coins each have a piece of puzzle which when put together make a shield. The pound coin has the full sheild which I suppose acts like the box cover of a larger puzzle. I've been saving them for weeks but until this week the 50p has eluded me. I noticed someone had one at work and asked her to swap it for some other coins of almost equivalent value. (she's foreign and easy to confuse)
Now you can buy these as a set, with the puzzle already completed but I just prefer to collect them myself from normal transactions. I like the fact that they are used and not perfect specimens and also that they will probably never be together again as I will put them back into my pocket for buying sweeties.
