Are you still remembered Oracle's plan for the acquisition of Sun Microsystems with a value of U.S. $ 7 billion? New European Commission will give its decision whether to approve the acquisition plan or not on January 27 next.

In the U.S. alone, this acquisition has received approval from regulatory agencies. However, regulatory agencies in Europe (EU Commission) raises issue of propriety of those purchases, and is still examining in detail the things associated with Oracle's acquisition.

Oracle acquisition is under challenge, among others from Michael Widenius, founder of the MySQL database system, dual-licensed, SAP, and Microsoft.
