Airtel and Idea double call rates: View Detailed Call Rates and Plans

Major mobile service providers, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular have hiked call tariffs by almost 100 percent, according to a report in an English daily.

According to the report, Airtel has been quoted saying the increase was inevitable considering the increased costs of operation, but its possible that TRAI may intervene to protect the interests of the Indian consumer.

Previously we saw Airtel and Vodafone increase the rates of its 1GB 2G plans from Rs 100/month to Rs 125/month. Along with this, we had also reported that the telecom companies were preparing to cut down on pre-paid freebies to boost profits.
