Al Quds is Jerusalem
min means
from

and Curacon
is Spanish for
Heart

I was given the heart and the al quds keyring holder by some Palestinian children that I visited in a refugee camp in Ramallah in the centre of the West Bank.
I wanted to see the image in reverse, so that it would look like an old cyanotype, which gives it a historical feel, and with the feathers, I also wanted to give it a feel of connecting to indigenous cultures beyond just the 'Arab' world - but connecting to the natural world inhabited by birds, and traditional knowledge of the land beyond the confines of borders.

Birds and dreams and the prayers from the heart know no borders.

Please see here for examples of early Cyanotype photographs from the Smithsonian Institution's collection to see the kind of blue historical images that I am referring to.

Yibarik fik

bahabak min qalbi
means i love you from my heart

this is for my friends in ramallah
to tell them i care about them and i remember them always and hope that god will protect them
