AOL Error Code C0FE1701: AOL Mail Login Problems Reported

Some AOL mail users are reporting problems logging in, getting AOL error code c0fe1701. Is this affecting any of you? I personally don't use AOL mail, so cannot really test this myself.
I wonder (and am not the only one doing so) if this is at all related to the massive phishing attack that took place over the weekend.AOL, along with Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo! mail were affected by the exploit.
At the moment we don’t know if the AOL mail login error code C0FE1701 is in any way related to the phishing attacks that hit Hotmail, Google, Yahoo, Comcast, AOL, and others as the only mail that it’s not working for some is AOL mail.

I live on the East Coast. This morning my aol mail was working properly. I just now tried to open my mail (on 2 different computers) and am getting "Service Error. There was a problem handling your request. An unspecified error has occurred."

Help!!!!!! I am a senior citizen, new to computers about three years ago, still learning. This morning I tried to turn on my AOL news/mail, after an absence of about four days (busy) and could not access it! Last night a similar thing happened. I then and/or today got told to sign in/up again, could not use my regular login "it was taken," and only AIM showed up. It appears that I have lost the literally 1000 emails that I work on occasionally, have been saving to forward, print, etc--and there was nothing there! I am a nervous wreck! I valued what I had not yet found time to do. My much-older male friend has lung cancer and I have been very busy with taking him to doctors for months. I do not know a lot about computers, such as saving things to my hard drive; so I just kept them to get to when possible. Now it is not possible. Will I ever get everything back? Please say yes. I do not know how to get a telephone number for AOL, I have had it so long. I just get signed in to my emails so easily and almost automatically. This has never happened before. What do I do? Please help. Anybody, anything. Thanks. I had a webtv for years and was very proficient with it. The only reason I changed to a computer was so that I could do online banking. Which I just did!!?? I just cannot get to my mail. I hope this does go public. I need some help and do not know where/how to get it. Thanks.

I just got on line and I had trouble doing that NOW .. I can't enter my mailbox!! What the heck is this?? How do I resolve this ??

I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS I JUST REOPENED MY LAPTOP AND NOW I CAN'T LOGGON aol please know how to fix this. Is this the cofe ? Please snd help.

Inability to log on to AOL mail this afternoon. Utility was functional this morning. Yahoo! mail works perfectly and quickly. Only AOL appears to be affected.

need my e-mail--- can't sign on 5pm---until 8 november 09;if not restore by tomorrow--will cancel payment/subscription;don't have patience or time for this nonsense, this exemplifies what has happened to the USA---where are the comp geniuses --screwing up the country with technology and putting people out of work---postal system worked fine for me and at least the post workers would talk to you
