Apple Keynote: An New-iPod IOU?

Everybody loves a good Apple announcement. Today is no different: (t)ru(e)mors abound over what new toys will be announced during today's Apple keynote speech, and even if it will be delivered by *gasp* Mister Steve Jobs himself.  Maybe an iPod Touch third generation? But I digress.

Most agree that today's keynote, titled "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll" will be an iPod announcement, as is normal for this time of year. Back to school is, after all, back to cool. I won't rehash all the predictions (OK, yes, I will: New iPod Touch 3G with camera? The demise of the Nano? The tablet? New browser? Fanboys, discuss)

The biggest rumor, though, is that Apple will have nothing to ship. Hanging over today's keynote is the pall of hearsay whispering that manufacturing delays have led to the new iPods getting dockblocked, and that stores across the land will be stuck with deadstock as hipsters and tweens alike hold their breaths and wait for the shiny-new, eschewing the suddenly-old.
