If you're thinking of buying a new iMac, you should probably wait. Apple seems poised to release a new iMac line very soon. The specifics haven't been leaked, though, in terms of features. Everyone's wondering about Apple Blu-ray compatibility, which Steve Jobs has previously written off as too much of a headache to be worthwhile.

Either way, it's best to not replace your iMac until the actual announcement, since you'll either be missing out on better features, a lower price point, or both.

To make way for these new models, Apple's corporate and educational sales teams this month have reportedly been offering their volume customers instant discounts of $100 to $200 on existing models. Anxious to clear inventories, representatives have allegedly stressed to buyers that these offers would be valid for just one week.

new iMac's and probably at lower prices or more computer for the dollar? It just gets better and better but I don't like the glossy screen so I hope by next year when I'll need a replacement there will be the choice of a matt screen otherwise I'll be forced to buy a MacPro.
