Apple warns iCloud users of looming storage loss
Former members of cloud storage site MobileMe who migrated to Apple's iCloud are receiving email notifications this morning that their introductory 20GB of storage space will be removed as of September 30 of this year. This news arrives after Apple extended the original deadline by an extra three months in May.
Originally offered as a means to sate MobileMe users who transitioned to Apple's mobile storage, the deal is ending after over a year of free service. Those users who used the excess space will have the option of cleaning out their account or upgrading for an extra 40 dollars a year.
New iPhone 5 users are being particularly affected by the notice, as those looking to back up their phones remotely are encountering space issues, particularly in regards to uploading photos. Whether or not users of Apple's cloud storage will accept this option or migrate to another cloud storage option - like Google's Drive - remains to be seen. Read more here.
