Thanksgiving 2011 falls on November 24 in the US
While many stores are remaining open on Thanksgiving Day this year, or at least opening later in the day to entice the shoppers for the early Black Friday sales, there are many businesses and institutions that observe Thanksgiving as a holiday and remain closed.
Schools are closed on Thanksgiving, along with state, municipal and federal offices.
The Stock Market is also closed on Thanksgiving.
But are banks open on Thanksgiving?
Most major bank branches are closed on Thanksgiving, and while there may be some smaller kiosks open, do not expect to do any banking after eating your turkey.
