Are Modular Homes the Solution to the Housing Crisis?

Can modular homes be the answer we have been looking for to meet the needs of the current housing crisis?  While the answer to this question remains to be seen, all signs lead to the affirmative.  The homes are efficient, green and attractive.  Their construction is fast, because they are manufactured indoors and, therefore, do not experience construction delays due to the weather.  Their popularity keeps construction companies and workers solvent and the demand is high by more than one demographic, each from opposite ends of the spectrum.  Michigan, New York and North Carolina have already caught the wave with booming modular home businesses. Whether this is just a passing fancy or modular homes are here to stay, one thing is for certain for now, they serve a dedicated purpose.
