Arthur Firstenberg of Santa Fe, New Mexico is suing his neighbour for refusing to turn off her wireless devices, aggravating Firstenberg's "electromagnetic allergies." Firstenberg is seeking $530,000 in health damages caused by his neighbour's night-time use of electronics, including her cell phone and Wi-Fi.

Ironically, Firstenberg makes a living studying the effects of electromagnetic waves on human health. He is the author of Microwaving Our Planet: The Environmental Impact of the Wireless Revolution. Firstenberg claims he is suffering from a case of electromagnetic hypersensitivity, the symptoms of which include dry eyes, burning skin, headache, fatigue and memory deficits. Meanwhile, the World Health Organizations says there is no evidence to suggest that weak RF signals from wireless devices can cause any adverse health effects.

Firstenberg says “I cannot stay in a hotel, because hotels and motels all employ wi-fi connections, which trigger a severe illness,” says the request for a preliminary injunction.
