Rear View Girls: Asscam Knows Where You're Looking

Reanin Johannink and Jessie Gurunathan, two New Zealanders calling themselves Rear View Girls posted a video to Youtube showing off the "Asscam", which, as the name suggests, is attached to a woman's butt, recording everything that happens behind her as she walks.

The result: the Asscam watches you watch. It stares as you stare. Just like you, it doesn't blink. Sociologically, I don't think the Asscam breaks any new ground. If a woman wears tight clothes and walks down the street in Los Angeles, people are going to stare. Also, women check out each other's butts. Nobody will really dispute those two observations.

However, as an art project, it's fascinating and fun to watch, especially when guys who are with their girlfriends or wives sneak a quick peek.

What we're seeing is the edited footage of what looks like several city walks. That's fine, since nobody is going to spend time on Youtube watching someone waiting to cross the street, or walking down an empty sidewalk. To flesh this project out, as it were, we'd like to see a breakdown of how many people the Asscam recorded, and how many of those stared at the ass on which the Asscam was mounted. As it were.

In other words, show us #asswatchers/#pedestrians. Then do the project again, recording the same number of people in the same neighborhoods, only with a woman with a different body type. Then again, with a guy in tight jeans.

Once that's done, let us know. This is for science.
