How to Remove AV Security Suite

If you've installed AV Security Suite, you probably noticed that it's more malware than malware protector... and it has no built-in method for removal. That's because it's malware.

If you're searching for automated tools to remove AV Security Suite, you are in luck, since there are several. However, once bitten, twice shy: you may not want to install a second unknown application to get rid of the second unknown application.

Malwarebytes is legit, and is fairly straightforward to use. Still, if you want to take a swing at the bad guys yourself, that's doable, too.

Going to Manual: Removing AV Security Suite by Hand

So here's a link to the manual steps for removing AV Security Suite. This involves touching the registry. If you attempt this method, be sure to back up your system first, even if your initial thought was, "Nah, I'm the terminal whisperer!" You do this at your own risk.

Seriously. Full backup. Oh, and read the instructions all the way through before beginning.

I  am an IRS employee and did the unethical by breaching a few files and getting the names of the principal owners of "AV Security Suite" ... which goes by a different IRS registered name. They are not a UK based company as they claim. I have these individuals home addresses and a LOT of other information. In fact the guy listed as either the COO or top executive officer lives about 5 miles from where I am writing this. I am 98% sure I saw him at a very high end eatery two weeks ago. . Let put it this way, a baseball bat can do a lot of damage to a human head.

Malwarebytes worked like a charm.  The only problem was downloading it, as the AV malware blocks such downloads.  So I downloaded the install file to another computer, and then sent it to the bad computer via email attachment.  From there, it went smoothly.  The program installed easily, and found and deleted the bad AV files.  I'm back up and running.Still a minor problem or two.  Internet Explorer no longer works because AV somehow threw off my settings for Internet access for that program, and I'm too ignorant to know how to fix that.  So I switched to Foxfire (which I prefer anyway) and bypassed that remaining glitch.  Probably reinstalling Internet Explorer would work as well, but not sure.

Richard, The AV Security sets an artificial proxy, which it has done in IE and you'll have to turn that off to use IE.  Go into the Network Connects tool in IE and turn off the proxy.  That should do it.Best,Rj
