Ultimate giveaway sees contestants haul over $100,000 of spectacular loot from Mac’s

The last remaining pirates have divided the spoils of Mac’s Shiver Me Frosters competition, walking the plank with a Mazda 3 speed, $10,000 American Express dream vacation and $5,000 Sony Home Theatre package.

For the past five months, Mac’s Convenience Stores have seen over 9000 eager contestants play the online Pirate Battle Game, clashing their swords and collecting points in hopes of being included in the grand finale giveaway. Mac’s has given away spoils and treasures to hundreds of wannabe pirates by way of monthly, weekly, random and now grand prizes, totaling over $100,000 in booty. Erin Stone of Lethbridge, Grant LaPierre of Rapid City, Derek Nicholls of Calgary, Justin Egger of Lethbridge and Barry Ostafichuk of Edmonton, all travelled to Eau Claire Market in downtown Calgary for the final prize draws - the top three prizes were unusually large for a convenience store franchise.

“We’re thrilled to have given away such enormous prizes for a contest that was a tremendous amount of fun for our customers and staff,” says Kelly McGuire, Senior Director of Operations, Western Division, Mac’s Convenience Stores. “The atmosphere was really exciting and it was great to have our Froster Street Team out giving away free Frosters to everybody at the event.”

The lucky old salts announced June 6th weighed anchor home with the following prizes:

•    Derrick Nicholls, Calgary – 2010 Mazda 3 Speed
•    Justin Egger, Lethbridge – $10,000 American Express dream vacation
•    Erin Stone, Lethbridge – $5,000 Sony Home Theatre package

The contest included over $100,000 worth of booty, and was exclusive to Mac’s Western Canada.
