Bajaj Auto Unveils RE60 Four-wheeler
Bajaj Auto on Tuesday launched RE60, terming it a revolutionary ultra low-cost four-wheeler for mass. Bajaj's ambitious four-wheeler will have 800 cc water cooled DTSi4 engine with closed loop fuel injection system.
India's leading two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto has announced to go Nano way on Tuesday, as it unveiled its first four-wheeler RE60 at ultra-low price. Bajaj is hopeful that it will revolutionize the mass transportation and change the way people commute within the city. The 35k a liter four-wheeler RE60--not a car-- will definitely effect the Nano--which is struggling with safety related issues-- as Bajaj Auto is promising that it will be set a "global benchmark" in carbon-di-oxide emissions, with just 60gm/km.
Unveiling the so called 'would be revolutionary RE60' managing director Rajiv Bajaj said, "We are very excited with the outcome of our efforts and, in the RE60; we believe we have an excellent solution for the mobility challenges arising from the rapid urbanization of India."
Nullifying its competition with much hyped Tata Nano, Bajaj said that RE60 would certainly be a four-wheeler but not necessarily a passenger car. The RE60 seems to be more of a people carrier, especially for intra-city commute.
