A clever iphone application development company has created a Ballooon Boy iphone application based on the recent hoax of a boy stuck in a runaway Balloon.
Hoping to capitalize on the hoax,the application enables users to create their own customizable balloon boy moments.
According to the media release user can,
"Position a balloon boy image over a photo of your skyline, and our vivid graphics will help you make your own unique balloon boy hoax. Balloon boy images can be added to any picture and easily resized and positioned using iPhone's finger gestures."
The Balloon Boy story riveted media outlets when word first leaked that a six year Colorado boy, Falcon Heene, inadvertently climbed into his family's balloon which became untethered. The breathless media followed the trail of the runaway balloon and the rumored inhabitant.
It turned out to be a hoax with the father of Falcon Heene facing felony charges, and the media with egg on their faces.

When stories like this erupte, usually t-shirts are the first products to spring up (and they still are). Now, it seem iphone applications are fast become the new t-shirt - except at 99 cents they are cheaper.
