It seems that more and more robberies are occuring in Van Nuys. On Saturday, the 26th of July there was yet another robbery in the city of Van Nuys located on Van Nuys Blvd.  A witness said the suspect had barely entered the building (about 20 feet in) before a gun was drawn.  Thereafter, there was a scuffle and at least 3 patrons in the bank rushed to help the security guard. One witness managed to actually wrestle the guy away from the suspect, who was described at a 40 year old man, possibly wearing a disguise consisting of a big jacket and  (some says) a wig and a fake beard. The patrons who helped in the scuffle are credited for saving the officer's life.
The guard suffered lacerations to his head and a possible gunshot graze wound to an arm, Miller said. The suspect also was injured, although it did not appear serious, Miller said.

The suspect and the officer are both in the nearby hospital. The name of the suspect has not yet been released and both seem to be stable.
